Mississippi Gulf Coast: 2016 Mardi Gras Schedule
SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -
Krewes across the Mississippi Gulf Coast are gearing up for the long awaited Mardi Gras season. Thousands of revelers will line the streets to catch beads, doubloons and treats at the more than 20 parades that roll in South Mississippi.
Here is our list detailing everything you need to know about the parades for the 2016 Mardi Gras season:
January 16
Orange Grove Carnival Association parade rolls at 2 p.m. The parade stages and originates at the Goldin Sports Complex north entrance, turns left and heads west on Prudie Circle. It turns left, heading south, on Three Rivers Road. It turns right, heading west, on Dedeaux Road and continues to the intersection of Highway 49 where in ends. All float and parade traffic will exit northbound on Highway 49 only. No throwing of parade items will occur on the highway this year.
January 23
Ocean Springs Elks Club parade rolls at 1 p.m. Parade rolls through downtown Ocean Springs, rain or shine. Parade begins on East Beach Drive by the site of the Ocean Springs Yacht Club, continues through downtown Ocean Springs and finishes at Ocean Springs Upper Elementary School.
Ocean Springs Krewe Unique directly follows Ocean Springs Elks Club parade.
8th Annual Pass Christian Krewe of Legacy parade rolls at 1 p.m. The parade starts and ends at Neco's Market Place at the intersection of Vidalia Road and Cable Bridge Road, turns north on Firetower Road to Vidalia Road, then east on Vidalia Road to Cable Bridge Road.
Biloxi Second Liners rolls at 1 p.m. Parade route runs from Gruich Center west on Howard Avenue, west on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to west on Howard Avenue before turning north on Caillavet Street, then east on Esters Boulevard. The parade ends at D.C. Bush Park.
January 24
13th Annual Lizana Mardi Gras Parade rolls at at 1 p.m. Parade route begins at Lizana Elementary School and continues to Cable Bridge Road before turning north on Moran Road. The parade ends back at the elementary school.
January 30
16th Annual Biloxi Children’s Walking Parade rolls at 10 a.m.
Sign in and late registration begins at 9 a.m. Participants may walk, bike, skate or be pushed/pulled in strollers and wagons. No motorized vehicles will be allowed. The theme for the parade is Coastal State of Mind. Children and families are encouraged to be creative and dress in costume and decorate their bikes, wagon, etc. in celebration of the things and events which make the Coast a wonderful place to live, such as the lighthouse, fresh seafood, the sand beach, diverse ethnic cultures, etc. Parade will begin under the Interstate 110 overpass on Howard Avenue. It will continue east on Howard Avenue, to Reynoir Street and turn south, ending at the Mardi Gras Museum. There will be a celebration, including an opportunity to meet and have pictures taken with the 2015 Gulf Coast Carnival Association Royal Court, a costume and float contest, refreshments and Mardi Gras art activities.
8th Annual Krewe of Little Rascals Children’s Parade will roll at 1 p.m. Parade will begin at the Pascagoula Library downtown and go straight down Delmas Avenue and end at Anchor Square. Click here for registration information: http://shout.lt/bn1Tt.
26th Annual Vancleave Mystic Krewe of Pine Island parade rolls at 1:30 p.m. Parade starts on the south end of John’s Bayou Road and runs north.

Gautier Men’s Club: Parade time to be determined. The parade begins at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Jackson County Campus on Highway 90 and proceeds around the old Singing River Mall property before ending back at the college.
January 31
49th Annual Waveland Krewe of Nereids parade rolls at 1 p.m. The parade route begins at the intersection of Drinkwater Road and Highway 90 in Bay St. Louis then rolls west, ending at Auderder Street and Highway 90 in Waveland. The parade will travel westbound towards Waveland in the eastbound lane.
February 5
Ocean Springs Carnival Association Night Parade rolls at 7 p.m.
February 6
Krewe of Diamondhead parade rolls at noon. Parade begins at the Community Center and winds its way toward the Country Club.
Jackson County Carnival Association parade rolls down Ingalls Avenue and Pascagoula Street at 1 p.m.
Gulfport Krewe of Gemini parade rolls at 2 p.m. Route runs down Highway 49, through downtown Gulfport to city hall. Day and night parades have the same routes. Click here for the route map: http://shout.lt/bn1BC.

February 7
86th Annual St. Paul’s Carnival Association parade rolls at noon. Parade starts at the corner of Davis Avenue and Second Street, proceeds to Scenic Drive, turns west to Henderson Avenue, north to St. Louis Street, east to Church Street, south to Second Street, east on Second Street to Davis Avenue. 28th Annual North Bay Area Mardi Gras Parade will roll at 1:30 p.m. The parade will begin at the St. Martin Community Center and roll down Lemoyne Boulevard to Central Avenue. It will then turn on to Rodriguez Street and then on to Automall Parkway. The parade will then turn back on to Central Avenue.
February 8 (Lundi Gras)

9th Annual Bay St. Louis Krewe of Diamonds parade rolls at 1 p.m. Parade route is down Main Street, turns on to 2nd Street on to Union Street, continuing to Blaize Avenue in front of the Historic Depot.
