JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now)

Officials say that $15 million in assets have been seized after nine different pharmacies statewide were raided by federal agents.

FBI agents raided the OPUS RX pharmacy at the Jackson Medical Mall, RXemedies and MEDWORX in Ridgeland, as well as Aspire Health Compound in Jackson.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Department of Defense Criminal Investigation Service are also involved in the investigation.

Delores Lewis from MBN says that a healthcare fraud investigation was initiated by them before it was turned over to a federal investigation.

MBN also confirms that search warrants pertaining to this investigation are out in Utah, Alabama and Florida, as well.

This is a developing story and we will provide additional information as it becomes available.
