A Georgia man who won nearly $500,000 in the lottery in November was fatally shot Thursday night in a home invasion robbery.
Craigory Burch Jr., 20, a forklift operator, won $434,272 in the Fantasy 5 jackpot.
WALB reported Burch's girlfriend was also at the residence during the home invasion. She ran for help, but Burch died before police responded.
WSB-TV reported Burch used some of his lottery winnings to buy Christmas gifts for the needy.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the homicide.
