In Philadelphia Thursday night, a cop sitting in his police car was ambushed by a man in Muslim garb who told investigators he committed the crime “in the name of Islam.” Suspect Edward Archer’s mother described her son as a “devout Muslim.”

Thankfully, the officer, Jesse Hartnett, survived. Details are still sketchy, but here’s a stark screenshot of the surveillance video that captured the alleged jihadist as he shot at Officer Hartnett 13 times at point blank range:

Where are all the #StopGunViolence activists when you need them?

During the invitation-only CNN/White House one-hour Kabuki town hall last night, there was a virtual blackout on several crime waves that have plagued America’s streets under the Obama administration:

  • The violent war on police;

  • The illegal alien crime wave and mass criminal alien release;

  • The systemic infiltration of murderous jihadists targeting our citizens,soldiers and their families, and law enforcement officers.

It’s a toxic cauldron where no safe space from lib-engineered lawlessness exists.

The president paid fleeting, obligatory lip service to our men and women in uniform on the front lines in charge of keeping the peace.

“There are police officers who are out there laying down their lives to protect us every single day,” he grudgingly acknowledged last night.

Obama has exhibited a pattern of cold diffidence toward fallen officers targeted by racial thugs and jihadists.

But neither he, nor host Anderson Cooper, nor anyone among the hand-picked questioners breathed a word about rising anti-police vigilantism in America, which has been stoked by a combination of “pigs in blanket” anarchy by the Occupy/Black Lives Matter Left, decades-old, entrenched cop-bashing inacademia and Hollywood, and assassination calls by ISIS-inspired Islamic jihadists.

Obama has exhibited a pattern of cold diffidence toward fallen officers targeted by racial thugs and jihadists. In December 2014, when NYPD officers Wenjian Liu & Rafael Ramos were assassinated in cold blood by a racial avenger, Obama was golfing and dragged his feet in condemning the murders.

He had nothing to say about militant black nationalist and jihadist vigilante Zale Thompson, who attacked white New York police officers with a hatchet in the fall of 2014. Thompson was a radical “black power” proponent who converted to Islam, obsessed over jihad, spent months consuming pro-ISIS propaganda and “wanted ‘white people to pay’ for slavery.”

Thompson was hailed as a “crusader for justice” by the Queens chapter of the New Black Panther Party. That’s the same anti-white hate group whose members instigated racially charged chaos in Ferguson; racially charged intimidation at a Philadelphia voting booth in 2008 that went unpunished by the Obama administration; and racially inflammatory threats against the innocent Duke lacrosse players exonerated of false rape accusations in 2007.

A week after Thompson waged his racist anti-cop jihad, another police officer in Washington, D.C. was ambushed by an ax-wielding assailant in a chillingly similar attack.

No tears from President Obama.

There was also radio silence from the White House last night during its staged town hall as news broke about the arrests of Palestinian-born Iraqi refugees Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan and Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab, who proclaimed they were “eager to see blood.”

How many more jihadists lurk among the massive influx of refugees, TPS beneficiaries, tourists, foreign students and business travelers, fiancés, visa overstayers, deportation fugitives and document fraud holders already in the country (and poised to receive an alien work permit windfall)?

How many more have been smuggled here under our noses? Todd Bensman, a Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security master’s degree graduate, recently published a ground-breaking thesis on human smuggling networks involving “special interest aliens” [SIAs] from terror breeding grounds that has more relevance than ever in Obama’s age of open-borders lawlessness:

The research traced the human smuggling organizations that transport migrants from the Islamic world over oceans and continents to places such as South America, the Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico, from which their smugglers routinely move them to the U.S. southern border. …“These human smuggling operations move people across continents and oceans and countries and border after border. That’s why I call them ‘ultra-marathoners’” Bensman said. “If you were ISIS and wanted to get here these are the organizations that enable it. This is the terror travel highway.” …A national debate has been underway since the Paris attacks about the resettlement in the United States of Syrian refugees, and it is true that screening vetting processes for them are layered and lengthy, if still inadequate, Bensman said. But he said the migrants at the heart of his ultra-marathoners thesis are not those kind of refugees but, rather, asylum seekers who show up, smuggled and uninvited, at the border and receive little systematic vetting. Bensman found numerous cases in which migrants associated with terrorism arrived unannounced at the southern land border and later navigated the bureaucratic process to win asylum through trickery and deceit. Among those cases, for instance, was a Somali couple who crossed from Mexico into Texas in 2008. The wife was able to lie to pass screening and settle in Wisconsin with asylum status. The husband, while in detention at the border, serendipitously found himself confiding to undercover FBI informants that he was actually planning attacks in the U.S., which unraveled his spouse’s story and landed both in prison. That case and others illustrate the challenge about vetting SIA migrants smuggled to the border. Just how many of these wolves in refugee’s clothing is a big unknown that homeland security authorities must start sorting out.

Civil disorder, plus social justice radicalism, plus blind dhimmitude, plushomeland security corruption, plus open borders equals suicidal chaos that Obama’s latest federal gun grab will only aggravate, not cure.

The fight to restore America’s sovereignty and security starts in our own backyards. If more citizens, along with their local and state officials, don’t rise up to counter the civilizational saboteurs in Washington, the wolves—both homegrown and imported en masse—will feast on our nation’s carcass.
