Dothan police investigators arrested a 16-year-old girl Monday and are looking for two more teenagers in connection to a fake-date robbery scheme.
Dothan Police Investigator Cpl. Jared Bladen said he arrested Breanna Hunter, 16, of Johnson Circle, and charged her with felony first-degree robbery and felony second-degree kidnapping.
Hunter was booked into the Houston County Jail and held on bail totaling $60,000.
“The victim is actually from Montgomery and as far as his statement goes they met on the website calledTagged.com,” Bladen said. “It’s some sort of social media and dating website.”
Bladen said an exchange of messages occurred online through the website over the last month, which later resulted in some phone calls setting up a meeting.
“She invited him down to Dothan. She told him she was 19, and gave him directions how to get there,” Bladen said. “Once he got there he was assaulted by the other two suspects we’re looking for. He came there thinking he was going to be meeting a girl and then was ambushed.”
Bladen said the meeting, and what actually turned out to be a robbery and assault, occurred in the parking lot of Johnson Homes around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21. He said the victim was assaulted with a handgun during what’s commonly referred to as a “pistol whipping.” He said the victim was treated and released for minor injuries at the emergency room at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Bladen said police are still looking for at least two more teenage males for their involvement in the assault that occurred during the robbery.
