Orange Beach, Alabama
I have some really exciting news to share with everyone today… It appears that Orange Beach has its very own Bald Eagle Nest! An Orange Beach resident contacted my wife about what he thought was Bald Eagle Nest, pretty much in his back yard.
She got permission for me to go check it out, but the resident asked that we keep the location secret, to keep people out of his yard.
So, I was up and on station this morning before sunrise. I quickly found the nest and saw one eagle sitting in a tree beside it. As soon as the bird spotted me, it took off. I had to be still for about an hour, waiting for it to return and it brought its mate with it. Both of them were bringing in more sticks for the nest.
This is super exciting as it shows that eagles are slowly returning to our area. It is possible that one of this pair of eagles is the off spring of the eagle in the State Park and it is coming home to roost. Enjoy the pictures I will be seeding out over the next few days.
