Birmingham woman says ex-boyfriend created fake Facebook profile with private photos

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -
A Birmingham woman says an ex-boyfriend created a fake Facebook profile using her name, information and even private photos.
Shekinah Dees wants to share her story so someone else doesn't have to go through what she is dealing with.
Dees says she and her boyfriend took some private photos that included nudity. After they broke up, she claims he made a fake Facebook profile in her name and posted those photos. However, those containing nudity were taken down according to the company's policy.
But, Dees says the company hasn't removed the fake account with her name on it.
While she questions why the page can't be taken down completely, a Birmingham lawyer explains the law hasn't caught up with the crime.
"I think this woman would certainly be able to present a case of action if she can present her case and get civil charges to compensate her what has been done," attorney Roger Appell.
Appell says there are no criminal charges for Dees to pursue under Alabama law. We have reached out to Facebook to find out why the page hasn't been removed.
Dees says the ex-boyfriend has taken down the pictures but she worries he will put them back up again.
