SUV crashes into back yard swimming pool
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
An SUV drove into a pool just off Blue Spring Road on Monday morning.
The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. A woman was driving and is not injured.
The pool did not have any water in it. Police say the driver was taken to the hospital to be checked out. They said there are no charges against her at this point.
The neighbor, Leonard Davis, said he was woken up by the car crashing into his pool.
"So I run with a flash light to check and come to find out there was a Ford Explorer in the swimming pool," Davis said.
He checked on her and told her to stop moving because the vehicle was dangling from the edge of the pool.
It took two wreckers more than an hour to remove the SUV.
It will take the homeowner, Charles Dozie, much longer to repair the damage, but he said he's not sweating it.
"What can I say?" he said. "It's just one of those things that happens in life."
If nothing criminal comes out of it, police said it will be between the vehicle owner and the home owner as far as who pays for the damage.
