Self-proclaimed '14-time loser' from Huntsville appears on the "Today Show"
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)
A face that many Huntsville residents know made an appearance on NBC's "Today Show" this weekend.
Jackie Reed is known for her many attempts at affecting local government.
She has run for office a total of 14 times - and lost each time.
"I'm a 14-time loser," Reed laughed.
"Seven times for mayor, six for city council, one for legislative," Reed said during her appearance on "Today."

Reed appeared as part of a four-minute feature about embracing being a "loser" and keeping a positive attitude in the face of challenge.

"I want to wake up the public to government," she said. "Determination is a key to success. I am not a quitter."
Jackie is once again in the midst of a campaign to be the next Mayor of Huntsville. If the campaign signs she puts out seem a bit weathered, the "Today Show" report noted, it's because they're the same ones used in campaigns past.
"I don't put dates on the signs because, four years later, I've used them again," she said.
"There's always a next time."
