Police blotter: Woman running naked down street says man battered her

A man was arrested after the woman he allegedly battered was found running naked down Denton Boulevard.

According to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, the woman told lawmen she was with a man at the Thai Pepper on Racetrack Road, then went to a residence on Carlos Drive. She said the man slapped her in the face and left for a residence on Denton. The woman went there too.

She said when she got there, the man slapped her again several times. She said she took off her clothes to defuse the situation with intimacy. Instead, the man struck her, knocking her to the floor. Then he grabbed her and choked her until she vomited and saw “sparkles,” she told deputies. She elbowed him in the face to get away from him, but not before he slapped her on the backside several times as she fled the building.

She ran into the street and flagged down a passing motorist, who gave her clothes and took her to a convenience store to call law enforcement.

The man told deputies the woman struck him in the mouth at Carlos Drive, then followed to the Denton address where she confronted him. He pushed her out of the building. He denied she was naked. The man had a swollen lip.

He was charged with battery and will enter a plea on Dec. 1.
