Man kills father, stabs mother in fight over food - later captured in Mississippi
JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) -
A Mississippi man visiting family in unincorporated Gretna stabbed his father to death and wounded his mother Wednesday in an argument over food at his parents' home, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
The incident occurred at around 7:20 p.m. in the 800 block of Bellemeade Boulevard. First-responding officers located the female victim near a staircase on the first floor of a home. She had multiple stab wounds to the head.
Officers were then directed to an upstairs bedroom where they located a male victim, identified as Percival Pritchett, 58. He sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest. He was taken to Ochsner Hospital Westbank, where he was pronounced dead.
The female victim, identified as Renta Pritchett, 57, was transported to University Hospital. Her condition is not known.
A preliminary investigation revealed that earlier in the evening, Ronald Pritchett, 32, of Purvis, Miss., was visiting with his parents when an argument ensued over food items. According to other family members who were present in the home, the suspect became enraged, armed himself with a knife and went to confront his parents.
Upon discovering their bedroom door locked, Ronald Pritchett kicked open the door and began stabbing both his mother and his father.
Ronald Pritchett fled from the home in his father's 1997 Chevrolet Suburban, tan in color, bearing Louisiana license YJS758.

LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -
The Lamar County Sheriff's Department has arrested 32-year-old Ronald Pritchett at a home off of Chandler Road in Purvis Thursday morning around 3 a.m.
The Sheriff's SRT team arrested him with the use of a K9.
Pritchett was slightly injured during his arrest. He waived extradition and will be brought back to Jefferson Parish on Monday where he is wanted for the murder of his father and the stabbing of his mother, according to Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel.
According to the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's office, Pritchett was visiting his parents when an altercation over food occurred.
Pritchett allegedly killed his father, and stabbed his mother at a home in Gretna around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday night.
Renta Pritchett was transported to University Hospital, but is expected to make a full recovery.
