Man lured to home by Facebook message - assaulted and robbed at gunpoint
DeFuniak Springs, FL
(WEAR) - A DeFuniak Springs man was lured to a home and then held at gunpoint while he was robbed of his motorcycle. The robbery suspect is now behind bars. Travis Hoose, 29, was arrested after robbing a man at gunpoint Tuesday night. Hoose used a woman's cell phone to send Facebook messages to the victim and made plans for him to come over and take her on a motorcycle ride. When the victim arrived at the house, Hoose held a handgun to the back of the victim's head and told him to get on his knees. The two men began to struggle and the victim was able to escape after Hoose hit him with the weapon in the back of the head. The victim called the Walton County Sheriff's Office who arrested Hoose after finding him hiding inside a closet in the home. "Hoose is no stranger to the judicial system,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson. “I’m glad – in this case— no one was badly hurt or worse.” Hoose was charged with robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and grand theft auto. He was booked into the Walton County jail.
