Mobile’s First Ice Rink Opens

Mobile, AL

Today, folks got their first look at mobile’s first ice skating rink! So far it looks like everyone loves it! We saw a big crowd out there earlier today. The rink opened at 11 a.m. and will close at 11 p.m.

We saw a few folks falling down, but everyone seemed to get the hang of it!

“So far we’re doing great, we have a steady flow of people, everyone’s happy enjoying the sun, sights and ice,” says venue manager Liz Egetoe.

“It’s fun to get to skate on the ice because you don’t usually get to, cause it doesn’t get a lot of snow or ice down here,” says Kayla Slade. “So we’re doing group and private lessons. Private lessons can start anytime and the group lessons start next weekend,” added Egetoe.

It’s $15 for a lesson and they say to sign up fast because spaces are limited.

Tickets to skate are $10 for adults, $8 for those 12 and under.
