Woman kills her abductor, rapist at Jefferson County apartment, deputies say

series An investigation into a fatal shooting at Pebble Creek Apartments indicates the shooter may have been the dead man's victim.

A 26-year-old woman was reported to have been abducted in the Adamsville jurisdiction earlier on Tuesday. Just before 6 p.m., Adamsville police contacted the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office to locate the woman at the apartment complex in Forestdale.

Deputies found the woman in the parking lot. They also located a deceased adult male in the apartment. Deputies say he died from an apparent gunshot wound.

The initial information is that the woman identified the man as her abductor. She told investigators he forced her to the apartment and sexually assaulted her. At some point, she got hold of the gun and shot him.

The investigation is still in its early stages.There is no word yet on whether or not charges will be filed.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office stated that more information will be provided upon its conclusion.
