Illegal Immigrants arrested in Alabama 'sex trade operation'
Local and federal authorities made two arrests in Albertville in connection to a multi-state prostitution operation.
Lawmen executed a search warrant in the 900 block of Hackberry Street on Oct. 29. Two men and a woman were inside.
"Officers and agents located multiple items which supported suspicions of an ongoing sex trade operation at the residence," Albertville police said in a press release.
Those items included condoms, lubricants and lingerie that authorities say were found in multiple locations in the home. They also seized $2,270.
Humberto Erazo-Medrano, 42, and Ricardo Castaneda, 33, were arrested and charged with second-degree promoting prostitution. Police said they were both living in Albertville but are foreign nationals in the country without proper documentation. Authorities could not confirm their country of origin.
They each got a bond of $100,000 at the Marshall County Jail.
The FBI and Homeland Security immigration and Customs Enforcement assisted in the arrest. Authorities are investigating a possible connection to other states.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office also assisted the Albertville Police Department.
